Jacqueline Kerr Counselling Compassionate Counselling for Individuals and Couples

Hello my name is Jacqueline and a warm welcome to my website.

I am an experienced, insured Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Grief Educator. A Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and a Member of the Association of Counselling and Therapy Online.

My own experiences with loss and personal change deeply shaped my understanding of what it means to struggle—and what it takes to heal.

These experiences led me to re-train in counselling, where I now support others to navigate their own challenges with compassion, care, honesty and respect.

Based in Aldershot Hampshire, I offer individuals and couples in-person counselling in Farnham and Farnborough and online therapy across the UK, making counselling and therapy sessions near to you wherever you are.

I support individuals and couples who are struggling with different aspects of their life causing them to feel overwhelmed or distressed including:

  • Grief, Bereavement, Loss and Endings, Anticipatory Grief
  • Life Transitions
  • Relationship issues
  • Work Issues
  • Low Self-Esteem. Low Confidence, Perfectionism
  • Traumatic Experiences

Couples Therapy

It is normal for couple relationships to go through different life stages and each stage can bring its own challenges.

As a trained Integrative Couples Counsellor, I support couples in identifying  challenges within their relationships as potential areas for understanding and growth. The process involves learning communication strategies that aim to foster curiosity and support, rather than conflict. There is a focus on recognising how individual differences contribute to personal development, as well as acknowledging strengths within the relationship and addressing problematic areas with increased awareness.

Couples counselling may produce outcomes such as enhanced communication, greater relationship satisfaction, and better recognition of their own individual needs as well as their partners. It can facilitate more effective conflict resolution and strengthen emotional and physical connections.

Ultimately my aim is to support couples in developing a more satisfying, positive and sustainable relationship, whether they continue together or choose to separate with mutual understanding and respect.

Palliative Care

I have experience working  within a palliative care setting. Providing online counselling, telephone and face-to-face counselling to patients with a life-limiting illness, their primary carers and family members. Working with adults, young people and children both pre and post -bereavement, including facilitating group bereavement counselling for primary aged children.

Background

Before training as a therapist, I spent many years working in community support, education, pastoral care, and youth work —supporting people of all ages through emotional, social, and academic challenges.

These experiences gave me deep insight into how people cope with distress, connection, change and uncertainty and shaped my belief in the importance of empathy, integrity, and presence in any helping relationship.
